Moises Caicedo, a midfielder for Brighton & Hove Albion, reportedly “told friends” that he wants to sign with Liverpool.
After being linked with a transfer in the summer, the Ecuadorian international has emerged as a Reds transfer target, and Liverpool are apparently looking to rekindle their interest.
Caicedo is the right midfielder for Jurgen Klopp’s demands because Liverpool has struggled in the Premier League thus far this season and requires more than just one.
Brighton have made it clear they do not intend to sell their midfield star this month, with former boss Graham Potter also said to be keen to take Caicedo to Chelsea.
Despite Chelsea’s interest, Football Insider reports that the 21-year-old has told people closest to him that he is “absolutely interested” in joining Liverpool.
In his Friday interview with writer Ben Jacobs, Brighton CEO Paul Barber addressed Liverpool’s pursuit of Caicedo directly, saying, “I’m glad to say we haven’t had any [offers], maybe they [Liverpool] haven’t gotten my email.”
