Speaking on ITV last night, former Manchester United midfielder turned television pundit Roy Keane was left stunned by Harry Wilson’s goal for Wales on Monday.
“My goodness! What a chance, what a strike that is! I know we have seen him do that before,” the 53-year-old said.
Wilson has firmly established himself as a Premier League player with Fulham since his Anfield departure in 2021.
Liverpool received just £12m for his sale, which is now less than half of what he’s worth in today’s inflated market.
The 27-year-old, who’s been labelled ‘special’ by Ryan Giggs (via Sky Sports), registered 13 goal involvements for The Cottagers last term.
Harry Wilson sale vindicated
Whilst Liverpool perhaps could’ve got a better deal, the decision to sell Wilson has been vindicated.
Had the Welshman still been a Reds player, he’d be behind Mohamed Salah, Luis Diaz, Cody Gakpo and Diogo Jota in the pecking order.
So, for the benefit of his own career, leaving Anfield was the correct decision.
