Juventus are reportedly aware of Liverpool’s interest in OGC Nice midfielder Khephren Thuram, who is being eyed by the Old Lady to replace Paul Pogba.
According to CalcioMercato, the Serie A giants cautiously fear that the Reds could now beat them to the 22-year-old’s signature, with Liverpool linked with Thuram this summer.
Lauded by French football expert Johnathan Johnson as ‘phenomenal’, the £60m-rated midfielder is regarded as one of the most exciting prospects in all of Europe.
And Juventus have now entered the race for Thuram, with the Nice talent viewed by the Bianconeri as an ideal replacement for Pogba, whose future remains up in the air.
Indeed, Thuram is no stranger to being compared to Pogba, and with Juventus now in the market for a replacement, the Nice star makes a tonne of sense as a new signing.
However, Liverpool’s interest still remains, and the Reds could cause Juventus some real problems in the market in the race to sign Thuram.
Liverpool need to take Juventus’ Thuram interest seriously
Liverpool were strongly linked with Thuram this summer but ultimately moved with other targets in what was a bombastic window for the Reds.
However, heading into 2024, interest in the midfielder seemingly remains, and Liverpool should be cautious of how Juventus could soon approach Thuram.
The French international is an excellent prospect and a player who Liverpool should be looking to sign, yet Juventus might soon beat them to the punch.
