Jordan Henderson shows true colours after ex-Liverpool captain makes eight-hour journey in van

Written by admin

Former Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson has gone to extreme lengths to support his country.

Sunday night sees England take on Spain in the Euro 2024 final in Berlin, Germany. The Three Lions beat the Netherlands to set up their place in their second consecutive European Championships final, while Spain beat France in their respective fixture.

The spell in Saudi Arabia would last just six months before Henderson signed for Ajax back in January. The former Liverpool captain has not made an appearance for England since last November but is still showing his support for the Three Lions.

According to The Times, Henderson has travelled to Germany to watch England in action in the final at the Olympiastadion in Berlin. However, the former Reds skipper was apparently not able to get flights for the trip so had to make alternative arrangements.

It has been reported that Henderson hired a van to travel from Amsterdam to Berlin and was accompanied by his children. The 34-year-old is said to have made the eight-hour trip to watch England in action and is expected to return to the Netherlands after the conclusion of the fixture.

Henderson will be looking ahead to the start of the new Eredivisie season with Ajax in the coming weeks. The 34-year-old left Liverpool last summer after enjoying 12 seasons at Anfield where he made 492 appearances and won seven major trophies.
