Liverpool manager Arne Slot is seemingly taking his time regarding bringing new players to the club this summer.
The approach certainly makes sense, with the Dutchman only just getting his Liverpool managerial career started.
He will need plenty of time to settle into life on Merseyside, and plenty of time to have a look at his new group of players.
Bonds will need to be formed over the coming weeks, with Slot and his background staff having just commenced pre-season training.
Given the latest international commitments, however, not every Liverpool player has reported back for duty just yet.
Steven Gerrard sends message to Liverpool academy graduate Adam Lewis
That will simply delay any new potential signings, with the Reds more focused on selling players at this moment in time.
And the latest to move on is Liverpool academy graduate Adam Lewis, who has left Anfield to join Morecambe.
The 24-year-old took to social media following his transfer, writing on Instagram: “19 years at a special club Liverpool has come to an end.
“Would like to say a massive thanks to staff, players and fans for everything and all the opportunities I’ve had. Liverpool will always hold a special place in my heart.
“Now onto a new chapter at Morecambe, looking forward to the season ahead and meeting the fans, can’t wait to get started.”
The messages of support for the defender poured in, with former Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard writing: “All the best mate.”
Liverpool players report for pre-season training under Arne Slot
Lewis joined the Reds as an Under-6, and went on to make one senior appearance, playing the entire FA Cup win over Shrewsbury Town in February 2020.
But he has now exited Anfield following several loan spells over the years, with the left-back having played for Amiens, Plymouth Argyle, Livingston and Notts County.
Another left-back has been heavily involved in pre-season training so far, with Kostas Tsimikas sharing an interesting description of Slot’s sessions.
His Liverpool teammate Caoimhin Kelleher has also explained what training is really like under Slot, with the boss currently putting many players through their paces.
Lewis has, of course, missed out on the opportunity to work with Slot, with the player set to line out in League Two next season.
